The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) has set a deadline for finalizing, calculating the financial model of the League Cup and concluding contracts with the main sponsors until July 15, 2022, the press service of the RFU reports.
On Tuesday, a meeting of the executive committee of the RFU is taking place in Moscow.
“The tournament can fill the vacated European Cup gaming slots with high-intensity matches and provide an opportunity for additional commercial earnings for RPL clubs,” the message says.
Earlier, the RFU decided to keep the current format of the Russian Premier League (RPL) for the next season.
